In 2010, ITU WSC-SET has hosted a symposium on Work-Family Balance and Gender Equality – A North-South Policy Perspective. At the symposium a series of research papers were presented on different OECD countries’ work-family balance policies and their impact of gender equality. This cross-country research, which included France, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Mexico and Turkey, was conducted under the auspices of WWHR-New Ways (www.wwhr.org), an independent women’s organization and supported by the Swedish International Development Agency SIDA. The papers have been further developed and updated in 2012-2013.
