Gender Equality Plan (GEP)

Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is a strategic framework developed by organizations, particularly in academia, research, and private sectors, to promote gender equality within their operations. GEPs define specific goals, actions, and measures to address gender disparities and foster an inclusive, equitable environment. They typically involve collecting and analyzing data on gender distribution in various roles and pay levels, implementing training on gender sensitivity, and supporting career advancement for underrepresented genders.

Additionally, GEPs emphasize work-life balance policies—such as flexible hours and parental leave—while actively working to reduce gender biases and prevent discrimination. Monitoring progress and establishing accountability are also key to refining these plans and ensuring sustainable impact.

The GEP Plan is an eligibility criteria for all public institutions, higher education institutions and research organizations from EU Member States and associated countries.
