In 2010, ITU WSC-SET has hosted a symposium on Work-Family Balance and Gender Equality – A North-South Policy Perspective. At the symposium a series of research papers were presented on different OECD countries’ work-family balance policies and their impact of gender equality.

According to a new agreement signed this year between the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), up to 140 students/scholars per year from the developing world will be sponsored to travel to China for up to 4 years’ of PhD study/research.

A group of academic and administrative staff from Faculty of Science and Technology, Uppsala University visited ITU “Women’s Studies Center in Science, Engineering and Technology”on November 16, 2012 between at 10:00 and 12:00.

“Female Empowerment in Science and Technology Academia” FESTA is supported by Sevent Framework Programme of the European Union FP7-SCIENCE-IN-SOCIETY-2011-1. ITU is the WP leader for the WP7 “Dealing with Resistance”. Team members are Prof. Dr. Gulsun Saglamer (team leader), Prof. Dr. Mine Tan, Dr. Ozge Atalay Celik, Assist. Prof. Dr Fulya Tepe and Hulya Caglayan.
